Background Images
An image at the background of the design can be useful for many tasks. e.g. checking fabrication problems or for connecting nano-tubes, designing a device for an existing structured substrate. The LayoutEditor has the feature to load, place and vectorize of images in the background. Any pixel graphic format can be used. Unlimited images can be loaded concurrently. Also live images can be used as background.
Description
To start with background images goto the misc menu within the utilities menu. The item SetBackgroundImage will open a file dialog to choose an images. Afterwards a docking window will be display with all option the place the image.
Placing
Placing a image is possible in three ways. You move, scale, rotate the image with the mouse in the placing mode, you can enter the value via the dialog or the CommandLine, or you can use a AutoAdjustBackgroundMode.
Visibility
The background image will by default only be displayed in one cell, the cell which was opened as the image was opened. This default can be changed any time within the docking window. You can make the image visible for all cell or you can even make it completely invisible.
Vectorization
A Vectorization of the background images is possible. Please see VectorizeImages for the different ways to vectorize a images.
