FreePDK, MOSIS

by anonymous - 10 Feb 2010, 15:06 CET

In the latest Mosis library, I noticed that some of the GDS cells are missing (e.g. pads, standard cells). Is this because of NDA issues, or is this because the GDS files are for a particular technology node (whereas the MOSIS rules are scalable)?

And about the openCellLibrary: I noticed that some of the required spice models were missing (the transistor models). I registered at nangate.com and downloaded the kit to have access. So to those interested in simulating with the 45nm lib: please register at nangate.com as well to have access to the transistor models (until they are included with any future LayoutEditor rev).

Mosis Library and openCellLibrary are intended as an example and/or template library. Shipping all parts of these libraries will multiply the required disk space. As there exists different technologies, transistor models, etc. a adaption by the user is always required for a productive use and a download of the main library components from the library provider will also guarantee the use of the most recent version.
